This week's tutorial will show you how to do a topsy tail braid (elastic braid, mermaid braid). It would make an excellent choice for Easter, and is so much more simple than you'd expect!
If you have ever wanted to do a perfect bun using a donut bun maker, this week's tutorial will help show you how. This style is perfect for sports too. I hope you enjoy watching!

2. Place the donut over the ponytail
3. Spread the hair neatly over the donut and smooth it with a fine tooth comb
This week's tutorial will demonstrate how to do a hairstyle I saw worn by Dr. Quinn the other day. It is French rope twists into a simple rope twisted braid - super easy! It can be worn for many different occasions too!
Instructions:
1. Divide your hair down the middle
2. Take a small triangular section from the top of one of the sides
3. Split that section into two
4. If you are working with the left, twist to the left....working with the right, twist right
5. Cross the two strands in the opposite direction that you twisted them
6. Add in sections of hair and repeat steps 4-5 until you reach the bottom
7. Do the same with the other side
8. Tie each with an elastic and combine both ponytails with a hair tie at the bottom
9. Do a simple rope twist with the remaining hair by twisting two strands and crossing in the opposite way
In this week's tutorial, I am showing how to do a style I originally saw created by @prettylittlebraids on Instagram. It is such a cute style and much easier than it looks!
Instructions:
1. Make 1-2in parts down the middle
2. Split the first section into three
3. Bring the middle of the three between the second section
4. Pull the other two sides with the middle section and join to the third part with elastic
5. Continue these steps until you reach the bottom of the braid
6. Enjoy this cool 3-strand pull through mohawk braid!
This week's tutorial will show you how to french braid. It is such an important braiding technique that I hope you will take the time to improve! There are so many options for this hairstyle, so get creative with it! :)
Instructions:
1. Take a small section of hair from the top of one side
2. Split the section into 3 strand
3. Braid like a regular braid, crossing the outer sections over the middle
4. Begin adding in pieces of hair to each side before crossing it over the middle
5. Continue in a diagonal line until you run out of hair
6. Holding the hair on one side, do a regular 3 strand braid
7. Tie off with an elastic, and enjoy your hairstyle
With Valentine's Day approaching, I decided to show you how to do a cute, festive hairstyle by doing two hearts with four strand ribbon braids. It would also make a great Valentine's Day sports hairstyle, as it holds up pretty well.
Instructions:
1. Part your hair down the middle and make a part again in the middle of each half
2. Tie off each of the top two sections with an elastic
3. Thread a ribbon twice the length of the ponytail through the elastic until there are two equal strands of ribbon
4. Flip both of them up under the elastic (optional: you could use a topsy tail)
5. Keeping the ribbon as the third strand, do two equally sized 4 strand ribbon braids in each ponytail
6. Form a heart with the two braids and secure with an elastic
7. Add bobby pins if necessary and enjoy this creative look!
This week I am showing you how to do hearts that you can use in pretty much any way you want! I hope you'll enjoy recreating this festive style for Valentine's Day!
Instructions
1. Section off even squares in the front with elastics. (I did four, but you can do as many as you like)
2. Flip each section through, with the hair facing toward the front
3. Add some hair gel and another elastic a couple inches down (I like using Paul Mitchell sculpting gel)
4. Flip the hair through each piece just as before
5. Make your hearts look as you would like
6. Add an elastic to bring all the sections together in a half up style
This week's tutorial is a super easy, beginner hairstyle! It can be a fun option for younger girls or a cute way to pull your hair back for sports....also great for when you don't have very much time for hair!
Instructions:
1. Start by parting your hair down the middle
2. Make four even ponytails on each side
3. Begin the bubble braid by combining the first section with the second on the same side
4. Combine that section with the next and so on
5. Do the same thing on the other side
6. Put elastics spaced evenly down the ponytail, pulling gently at each one as you go on
This week's hairstyle tutorial is a stacked pull through braid in honor of my meet tomorrow! It would be a great option for meet hair or any event that your hair must be pinned up for.
Instructions:
1. Section off a diagonal of mini ponytails
2. Split the bottom section in half
3. Then take one half and split it in two again
4. Pull the second pony through your two sections and tie it off with a new elastic on the third section
5. Continue this process until you reach the top section
6. Do a Dutch braid with the feathered out sections, starting at the bottom and ending at the top
7. Pancake each of the sections of the pull through braid on the bottom to accent the two different braids
It's was so hard for me to keep up with my weekly tutorials last year because of wifi problems. This year I hope I can update each Saturday, as originally planned...and improve my website each week.
For my first tutorial of the year, I'm excited to show you how to do one of my favorite braids: the zipper braid! It is such a fun and intricate hairstyle, that you can wear casually or as a fancy style. I tried doing zipper pigtails on my friend in this tutorial, and I think it turned out really cute!
Instructions:
1. Start by parting the hair down the center, and keep one pulled back in a ponytail
2. Take a section at the top, near the part line, and split it into three
3. Weave an outer piece over and under the other two
4. Clip that piece out of the way
5. Section off a new piece of hair to replace the one you just left out
6. Weave that one over and under the two sections
7. Again, clip that piece on the other side, out of the way
8. Take a new replacement section and weave it over and under
9. This time, clip it out of the way, but pull the other section under it
10. Place that section with the closest strand and pick up a new section to weave across like before
11. Continue these steps until you reach the bottom of the braid and tie off with an elastic
12. Repeat on the other side
13. Enjoy your new hairstyle!
